We made it to willow banks!

Instead of aiming to stay the whole weekend we decided to just travel up for the Christmas showjumping with Daisy today..who wasn't even interested in loading onto the lorry for the first 10minutes!😬

Ahh yes it was all worth the stress of escaping hospital and carting ourselves out in the cold, until I parted ways with Daisy in the take your own line and fell off her for the very first time!πŸ™ˆ We were up on the time, all the hard turns done and two fences from home when there was a momentary miscommunication, and Daisy grinded to a halt as I slid straight off and onto the floor. Before I had the chance to finish patting her as I walked out mum had already sprinted into the arena to leg me back up and finish the course, with it being unaffiliated we did exactly that and finished beautifully, so I've no idea what all the fuss was about!

I think it's safe to say that Daisy is keen to keep me on my toes, and not give me an easy time just because I've been under the weather- perhaps it's a but of tough love?πŸ˜… It's never plain sailing and I'm well aware that horses are animals, living breathing animals, (with emotions and chestnut mare tantrums!) not robots. Which is why it makes the good times and success all the more enjoyable, nothing worth having every came easy and sometimes all the preparations and training relies on that little bit of luck. It was great to finish the day by watching the incredible 6 bar challenge, where luck was the name of the game! Some fantastic riders and horses came forward to finish the show with a great class. A few of my friends also had some great results at the show which was great to see, I was able to plug my tube feeds in and watch the comfort of the new cafe for the rest of the show which was ideal, meaning I could enjoy every aspect of my day out and escape from hospital. Very much looking forward to more shows at Willow Banks in the new year, one of our favourite venues to have some genuine fun at, even when things don't go to plan!

In the meantime though, I think I'll be resting up with an ice pack and a smile on my face. πŸ™ˆ
